Will this plugin break customizations in my child theme?

Absolutely not!

Design Palette generates a custom CSS file, independent of the child theme. The plugin does not replace any code or style inside the child theme.  Edits made in the plugin are non-destructive and can be turned off and on with a flip of the switch ( deactivate the plugin), or by resetting the Design Palette settings back to scratch (default).
